Chris Silva was born on September 19, 1996, in Libreville, Gabon. He was sent to the United States for education by his father. He started his basketball career at Roselle High School. After high school, he signed a contract with South Carolina Gamecocks. In 2017, he played in the Final Four with Gamecocks, starting in all 37 games. In 2018, he achieved three significant successes in the Southeastern Conference. He won the Shared Defensive Player of the Year award and was selected to the first team in the Southeastern Conference, as well as the defensive team.
